A transparent editorial method

We included genuine hotel–casino pairings and ordered them by physical integration.

This is not a paid ranking, a star rating or a judgement about which venue is “best”. The order answers one narrow question: how directly is the hotel physically connected to the licensed casino?

The regional search found no qualifying Norfolk or Suffolk property.

To qualify locally, a licensed casino needed to be on hotel premises or adjoining as the same property. Great Yarmouth’s Grosvenor Casino at Shadingfield Lodge and Palace Casino are standalone casinos, not casino hotels. The proposed Edge casino was never built and its licence was given up.

The search widened to relevant Great Britain alternatives.

We prioritised arrangements that East Anglian travellers might realistically consider: the closest identified building-share in Southend, central London options with direct rail relevance, and stronger integrated complexes in Birmingham and Coventry.

The integration order uses four practical levels.

  1. Under one roof in the same destination complex: Genting Hotel and Genting Casino Resorts World.
  2. Same building: The Palace Hotel and ground-floor Grosvenor Casino Southend.
  3. Same address complex: Millennium Gloucester London and Grosvenor Casino Gloucester Road.
  4. Adjacent or next-door venues: STG Hotel with Grosvenor St Giles, followed by DoubleTree Coventry Arena with Grosvenor Coventry.

Distance and personal suitability remain separate decisions.

Southend is the closest listed option to Norfolk and Suffolk even though it sits second in the integration order. Journey time, accessibility, room needs, event dates and budget may matter more than the physical link.

Official sources take priority over this guide.

We checked hotel websites, operator websites, the Gambling Commission public register and relevant complex information. We do not reproduce uncertain prices, awards or room counts. Details were last checked on 4 September 2026; verify everything directly before booking or travel.

Visual references in this guide stay deliberately non-branded.

We do not scrape hotel websites for interiors. Where a photograph appears, it is either openly licensed hospitality imagery or an atmospheric illustration created for the site, captioned so readers can see it is not an official venue shot.

The East Anglian gap is documented, not papered over.

Great Yarmouth’s Grosvenor Casino occupies the former Shadingfield Lodge building as a casino, not as a hotel. Palace Casino is a casino venue. The Edge large-casino project left a Premier Inn and Beefeater on site after the casino itself was abandoned and the large licence was given up. None of those meet the hotel-plus-casino test used here.
